Who Plays on Sunday Night Football Tonight?
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys
Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Every Sunday night football TV show will have exciting football matchups when the Dallas Cowboys head north to take on the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles. The soon-to-be 5th game during a career that clocks in at 525 starts for Dallas QB Cooper Rush this week. The longtime backup now has a sterling 5-0 career record dating back to his first career start last season.
The Dallas Cowboys have been doing a good job so far this season, especially on defense. They’ve allowed just 311.4 yards per game (seventh in the NFL) and 14.4 points per game (third in the NFL). Rush has been able to make all the necessary plays without making any turnovers or significant mistakes.
For the first time in his career, Alexander has done exactly what he’s been asked to do. He’s managed a 4-0 TD-INT and 167.8 yards/game while also led his team with a 93.9 passer rating and continues to be undefeated through four starts. This week might be different though, as Dallas is set to face by far its biggest challenge yet this season in the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles.
The Dallas Cowboys play a brand of football unlike any other. Whether it’s through their record-setting offense, or their near-impenetrable defense, they’re going to be tough to beat in Philly on Sunday Night Football.
The matchup to watch in this one is the PhiladelphiaFalcon’s vaunted offensive line against the DallasCowboys’ dangerous pass rush. Who will win at the line of scrimmage? Will it be Philly or Dallas? That will likely dictate where the game will end up, which could influence whether Rush has to finally step up and save the team on his own.
The Eagles are favored here (-6.5). That number makes sense given that the Cowboys still don’t have return man of the year Dak Prescott leading the way and they’re playing at home against an undefeated team.
The Eagles have won by a margin exceeding the line three out of five times this season. However, Dallas presents the stiffest test yet in their defense.
“Penultimate change alert! This spread has jumped from minus-5 only a few days ago. That said, I love Philly winning by 10+ points, so the betting line doesn’t phase me. Dallas has held some subpar passing games in check recently.
The Eagles are on an entirely different level, and the Cowboys are third to last in first downs. They have little room for error. That won’t cut it against a 5-0 team.”
